The annual Fiesta San Antonio is coming up, and over one week in late April, over two million revelers will gather to celebrate our culture and character in a massive citywide party. There will be food, music, and fun for the whole family. Among the Fiesta’s biggest attractions is a spectacular carnival with rides, games, and more.
When and Where
The carnival will take place in the Alamodome Parking Lot C, 401 – 449 S Cherry St, San Antonio, Texas 78206. If you order your tickets before April 17 at 11:55 p.m., you can enjoy an unlimited amount of rides per day. Tickets and wristbands will also be available on the carnival grounds.
You can expect a colorful variety of rides and attractions. In the past, we’ve seen a Ferris wheel, old fashioned carousel, and the high-flying Yo Yo thrill ride. What better way to take in all the lights and colors of the carnival that up in the air with your legs swinging in the wind?
A Citywide Celebration
While you could easily spend the week having a grand time at the carnival, there are a variety of fantastic cultural events and other fun activities happening all week long. You can find a full Fiesta calendar HERE.
Other events around town during the Fiesta include a fragrant floral show at the Woodward House, a masquerade party, various fun runs and walks, an arts fair, live music, and amazing food like the chili cookoff on the last day. The cookoff recalls the “Chili Queens” of San Antonio, who introduced carne con chile to the U.S. culinary landscape after years of cooking the hot stew in our city plazas.
